Assume KH means Karmann hardtop?
I'm interested if that is the case. What condition; a driver or?

Mini? Jeep? There are not many cars that are able to be flat towed without hurting the drivetrain. I would not flat tow a 356. For a lot of money you can buy a Pete Brock Aerovault trailer. Sexy!

Re: RV flat tow vehicle recommendation
I think Saturns were popular to tow at one time, but it’d be difficult to find a decent one.
What on a 356 would be unhappy with flat towing? Wouldn’t the wheel bearings and transmission do fine?

Re: RV flat tow vehicle recommendation
20,000 miles of being towed 3ft behind an RV in all kinds of weather is going to make the 356 very ugly. Look at how these things attach to the towed vehicle. The 356 bumper would have to be removed or a very elaborate structure fabricated or both. I wouldn't subject a 356 to that.Martin Benade wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 10:59 pm I think Saturns were popular to tow at one time, but it’d be difficult to find a decent one.

Re: RV flat tow vehicle recommendation
I flat towed a 59A coupe 800 miles back in 95 using a Uhaul front wheel dolly. No issues, just made sure brakes were off and transmission oil was at correct level.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Re: RV flat tow vehicle recommendation
We are RV’ers as well as 356’ers. There are many vehicles that can be flat towed. I have towed a Jeep Wrangler, a Jeep Liberty, and currently a GMC Canyon. All were 4WD. Certain Saturns were popular as well as earlier Honda CRV’s. I have seen photos of older RV’s flat towing a 356, but I wouldn’t do it with mine.
