Wasn't that center seater 914 your future "Lemonz" car?
Oh well,...like you said, some die so others may live.
Do you have a name for the new project yet?
I volunteer: "The 1818"
(904 + 914)

Yeah, we bought the 914 to run lemonz, but never found the time. Still thinking of a name, but I like 1818.

Looking at you inside it, I wonder, will they let you exchange it for the next larger size?

Brian,
I'm thinking I need to get back on the treadmill before the car is finished.

Seriously though, the first time I saw a real 904 I was very surprised at how small they are.

1818? Is this a name or year of manufacturer?

The sixer is getting her new gearbox this week. Do you think I need more tire back there?

Unless you want to add some flares, the backspacing looks about right now. Possible that when you get the body on, you might have to go with less, that's already a lot bigger than a real 904...
I mean it really depends on where you want to go with it. You want a fairly close replica, tire size might have to go down, but if you want a 904 on steroids, then I'd bet some body mods are coming. With a 914 base, it's not like you aren't going to be making a few fabricated changes anyway.

Just picked up the car, it is running wonderfully, hoping to find a big empty parking lot to let loose in, if not I might risk putting Dealer Plates on it, but I might not be able to talk my way out of that one.
The body is all ready for display for the open house on Saturday Sept. 5th, hope to see everyone there.

Also, Max is ready to race!

Awesome projects, Adam! I am so envious of the 904/1818. The 904 was my dream car. I had a shot at one way back in the day but when I went back to the dealer, it was gone.

Question: how available are the bits and pieces you'll need for the 904? Talk about unobtainium!

I had a rare opportunity to study and photograph a very early 904 yesterday, 904-0014. A friend was very kind and let me crawl all around the car he has had for over 40 years. He was also a wealth of info on the cars since when he bought his car it was in a million pieces, so he knows every inch of it after 40 years of assembly.
It was cool and also once again surprising how small they really are!

G-
Very cool, and the owner of 0014 had never seen the pic before, where was it taken?

Your car looks like it is coming along nicely.
