The times, they are a changin'
It amazing what starts hitting the doors, still getting lots of 356's, but people are freaking out over 911's. These pics were 2012 and today, a new crop!

Saw a rusty early silver 911 on a car hauler Tuesday heading West on I 94 about an hour East of Detroit. Looked like maybe a 72 or 73.

I saw a 70S the whole way home today, it was right in my mirror, well, in between snow gusts, it was snowing pretty heavy.

I believe 356s are becoming out of range (cost) and too old (for a semi-daily driver/cafe racer) for the new generations, instead they go for the 911s which are more accessible nowadays but still handbuilt cars... also, a little less purist approach...M2c

I hear that it snowed in hell and at the same time 914s are now going for double digits. Anything Porsche and air cooled is taking off like a meteor. So Adam, are you buying 914s now? Maybe you should start looking into 944s and 928s.

Dan,
914's are doing well, but it is much like the 911's did 5-10 years ago, the nice ones are bringing good money, the horrible to tired ones are still there to be had on the low low. You can still buy a running driving 914 for $3500, so while a nice one is bringing $15,000-20,000, plenty more aren't. I am a big fan of the 914 so if someone is looking to put something cool in their collection for under $20,000 a 914 or 912 is a good addition, but I wouldn't start dragging back all the rusty left to rot 914's just yet, like we do with 356's and now 911's.
