A 2014 356?

#1 Post by David Lawrence »

This is an ad that appears in "The Absolute Sound 2015 High-End Audio Buyer's Guide".
The ad is for the speakers and the car is there to draw the attention of the viewer.

That vehicle strikes me as what a 356 would look like if it were to be made today. Is it real or Photoshopped I don't know.

The spearkers in the picture have a retail price of $180,000 per pair.

What, no Linn Sondek(spelling?)? How about Audio Research?

Porsche would not know how to design a replacement for the 356. They gave up building lightweight efficient over-performers a very long time ago. Today, they could only produce a nostalgic styled homogenized personal luxury car with your choice of seat stitching color. Porsche still builds great cars for what they are but a "modern 356" would be a great disappointment. Think 3200lbs and a 3 cylinder turbo making 1/2 the power of a "911". Great chick car.

This car is a French-made PGO.
Their speedster 2 model sports a 184bhp BMW in-line four and weighs 997kg.
I guess this can be qualified lightweight efficient over-performer.
