November 18th 2014 E-Bay Return Policy Changes to 6 Months

#1 Post by Doug Darrah »

I can't believe it - November 18th 2014 E-bay is changing their return policy to 6 months --- which means if you decide to sell something (as a seller) your customer (buyer) has 6 months to decide if they want to return the item or not - current timeline to file complaint is 45 days (info@consumeraffairs.com) has the article, way to go Ebay --Seller Beware Policy :-)

This will probably be moved to off-topic, but...

It is actually PayPal that has changed the policy as described. It would apply not only to eBay sales, but any other sales that went through PayPal as well!

And another little tidbit from that policy change: the PayPal policies of the country of the buyer applies to the transaction. That means if you live in the USA and sell here on 356 Talk to someone in Mongolia, it is the PayPal policy from Mongolia that applies!

Next year eBay will be spinning off PayPal after a couple years of pressure from investors. Expect more changes.

And yes, this thread belongs in off topic.

The way things are going with Paypal rule changes, they will legislate
themselves out of business. I've already stopped selling on Ebay due
to their rule changes!
