Trevor,
Years and years ago I owned a VW camper exactly like the one in your photo. Same side windows and body color.
Brings back memories....

Good ol Dove Blue, such a perfect color on a Bus. Pete has owned his for years and years as well. He’s done many events (he just got back from Buses by The Bridge) and uses it all the time. Here’s a pic down at San Onofre on Big Wednesday with Jack, Pete, Danny (sitting in the bus) and my daughter.

Well here we are almost in the middle of June, everyone figuring out how it works for themselves and their loved ones, good!

I was using Jack’s Tilter today in my shop and came across this photo (an actual printed photo) of Jack using it (circa 1990) right outside his shop.

Doesn’t it make you yearn for a simpler time of doing repairs and helping cars stay on the road? It does for me👍and I’m one of the young guys (46) 🤷‍♂️😂

Sharing some pics of a ZF steering box that Jack was recently taking apart. Upon initial inspection quite a bit of goop/sealant was present (customer commented it leaked). After closer examination and disassembly (ZF tag still present) you could clearly see the machine work was either not finished or done to a less than wonderful standard. Source of the leak found!

Old school twin plug engine that Craig and Jack have been working on for decades(?) was installed and is currently being tuned. It’s really FAST and pulls freely to 7K. Craig might have to change Speedy’s nickname to Super Speedy! :D

Thanks for posting us Trev. This new one is 1900cc, but what's really cool is that it idles at 800rpm, can be punched below 2000rpm without complaint, and just sails past redline. Jack is a genius! A legend and a genius!

To try to answer Neil's message, Jack estimates around 150hp, and I'll have to agree since it just makes Speedy fly. Because of all the lightweight stuff inside, it gains rpm like a beast and you're doing 100mph in third before you can blink twice. But we have no dyno access right now since our buddy and VW drag racer Roger Crawford passed away. Did I mention that it has heaters? When's the last time you heard of a double-plug with working heaters? Jack's magic.

Craig,

I took a look at my twin plug and decided to install a gas heater.
It works great, a VW bus SouthWind under the spare tire.
It feeds thriugh the fresh air units.

Which CDI are you using? I assume you have the coverted Nissan dizzy.
