Why you have to be careful on e-Bay
It's always fun to go into the 356 listings and select "Closed Listings". Surprising how few actually sell! One that did had a really interesting write-up. The vehicle was described as a "Speedster". Following are quotes from the write-up: "The Speedster for auction here is licensed as a 1963 Porsche for street use with current plates in California." The last line read: "Thoughtful details include Reutter body badge and 356 Registry decal." Speedster has barely covered 2900 miles since it was built." Since it's a plastic-bodied VW it sure wasn't built in Stuttgart! How did they get the thing registered as a Porsche? What did the buyer think he was buying? When you sell yours be sure to add an authentic 356 Registry decal. Be careful out there.
