Today Lori and I went to the 5th Saturday 356 Breakfast, held in Pebble Beach, afterwards we drove the 17 Mile Drive, stopped to watch the ocean, beautiful morning, beautiful wife and nice car.

Interesting, the 1951 356 coupe #10681 is being offered for sale at the upcoming RM Sotherbys Taj Ma Garaj auction.

If this is the car from the 1954 Carrera Panamericana Mexico, car #100, its supposed to be a 356 SL lightweight coupe.

Well, with all those missing panels, I guess it is lightweight :D

What makes you think it was #100?

Hi Vic, I heard that John Dixon thought it was the car, purchased it based upon the paperwork he had seen at the time back in 2004. However, as #100 seems to be a 356 SL, I think 10861 is 'only' a '51 split window coupe. Seems like he might have been mistaken.

I heard that the Eva Peron car was stolen in Mexico back in the 50's and has never been seen again. You would have thought it would have surfaced somewhere, especially with that paint job.
