I downloaded these photos from someone on the 356 List, I believe. Does anyone know what color this 911 Targa is? Is it a metallic or non-metallic paint?
Thanks,
Steve

Steve,
If metallic it could be #221 Metallic green (a 71 color) or if not
metallic #218 Leaf Green (a 72 color).
Joe
PS My first real car was a 71 T Targa in Metallic Green.

I went back and read Brett's other book and since at one time in the mid-1970s I had a 1970 911T Targa painted this color ($1900 with a great funny story), I suspect that it is Conda Green, since it was not metallic and certainly not irish Green, which was a leftover 356 color. There were no other greens available on US spec. cars in 1970.

See some 911/912 color charts 1963-1973.....
I don't know which color it is, but you can see some color charts for 911's/912's 1963 to 1973 on the following website.

In 1970 there were other optional greens, a few I have seen on US cars, special order no doubt. They were Signal Green, Leaf Green, Turquoise Green, and Olive. I have seen Leaf Green and Olive on US cars. This car appears to be very close to Leaf Green, but green is a color that varies greatly when photographed.
