dC Automotive

#1 Post by Alan Hall »

Has anyone ordered parts from dC Automotive in North Carolina? They list some items I need, but I have honestly never heard of them. Reply off-line if you want.

I send several people a week down to Rob at DC, for parts that are post 1974, which we don't have much of. He in turn sends me all the pre-74 people, which is the stuff he doesn't have much of. I've never gotten a complaint back about sending someone there. They have a huge indoor warehouse and know the cars.

I've bought from them several times over the years. Very helpful on the phone, decent prices. Good experience.

Rob is a good guy have known him for YEARS. He is a good Connecticut guy who compromised his life to move to the sticks of North Carolina, buying a bunch of old tobacco industrial warehouses cheaply to house the biggest collection of later model Porsche used parts in the world. Virtually nil for 356 parts as Adam said.

I too once lived in CT and now live in NC. The lifestyle down here is much better, with fewer people and much nicer roads.

Rob's shop is not in the most upscale of towns, but it is convenient to I-95 and that may be why he bought there. He is a solid Porsche guy and honest as the day is long. However, the bias is toward newer cars as has been already covered.

the worst thing that ever happened to me was when my Dad was transferred to Atlanta from Glastonbury Connecticut in Dec of 67 when I was in tenth grade. One can imagine. Killed me! All of my Connecticut high school chums later went to Woodstock. Of course I missed it.

Have dealt with Rob for over 20 years, first when he was in Bridgeport, CT.
Always fair in his dealings with me, can recommend.

Stopped by there yesterday, it's a little overwhelming seeing that many Porsches lined up.

Adam, they are all dry with no snow on them. You need to upgrade.

Hey George: look at the bright side. It appears that you still have most of your brain cells intact by missing what's-his-name's mudfest.

Man, after growing up in Atlanta and then spending the last two decades in NY, I don't think I could do another summer in the South. I can remember working on cars on the blacktop in August, feeling like a piece of chicken on the skillet.

The only upside to all this warming is one day my lakehouse in NH might be beach front!
