I think this is indeed Off Topic. However David, I am not sure whose values and ideals your are concerned about? Certainly not the young Aboriginal Australians who made this entertaining series of films for one of our national broadcasters. It was made by Aboriginal-owned film groups, in their own language, as pure entertainment. Most Australians remain very proud of our First Nation peoples in all walks of life.

I think there is a great reason we have a spot we call “off topic” ....but I find it hard to fault the ingenuity of the folks rescuing a car from the scrap heap. Not just in the ideals of the Registry ?—I don’t know, I’ve seen some very similar fixes on our own cars....

When I was a lad, the VSCC took much the same care with restoration and maintenance of their cars, some still do. They call it patina and decry over restoration. :P
