aero engine

#1 Post by Walden Wright »

Frank Barrett found this Porsche avio-motor and has rebuilt it, will fit it with some type wooden prop and onto the stand you see so he can play with it in the back yard. One would need to devise some way of securing it to terra firma. Here are some photos of the 678/4 as it nears completion, The stand is built and he is doing the final wiring, etc. It's been test-fired and runs well. The prop has yet to be fitted. The whole shebang should be here next month: twin-plugs, dry-sump, and zoomie headers
I really don't know Frank Barrett but a friend knows I love 356's so he sent me these pictures' I'll try to find out the use of the engine. Is it Aero Art or just a big fan?

Wally:

We did it because we could, and because it deserved to be preserved. It's the only 678/4 engine I've seen in 40 years of messing about with old Porsches.
