All Porsche Swap Meet - 356 Club Show - Anaheim

#1 Post by John Alfenito »

The Phoenix Club grounds were packed to the fences this morning in Anaheim, CA as the 356 Club's Annual All Porsche Swap Meet tried out a new venue for 2009. This may be the spot that brings back the success and attendance of the Dunkel Brothers shows from years gone by.

Everyone was having a great time pouring over the swap stuff, shopping for pieces and parts, and generally enjoying some of the nicest eye-candy a Porsche-lover could hope to see all in one place.
I have edited down my (many) photos to three dozen, representing some of the more interesting cars there (IMO). I'm hopeful others will post more. I'm pretty sure I spotted a couple of other guys with cameras.
This yearly gathering is worth flying in for if you're not lucky enough to live in 356 heaven – Southern California. Enjoy.

John,
Thank you for taking the time to post your pics. Couple of questions:

1) Does anyone know the history of the red patina Speedster?

2) Also, was curious if anyone had a close up of the dealer frame on the Stone Grey(?) beehive Speedster outlaw(possible clone?). If I'm incorrect on the color please let me know. Looks Great!

Don't know anything specific about the Red Speedster with "patina" (aka rust). I just thought it made for a great contrast among all the shiny ones.

The T1TURBO car you're referring to is a JPS Motorsports Replica with a honkin' turbo-ed engine in it. Wasn't really Stone Grey, but the color is "in the neighborhood." It's really a bit darker and more toward the green spectrum. His LPF just says, "Hollywood" on the bottom.

Great pictures, John! We had 1631 people walk through the front gate and we estimate another 300+ people in Porsche's and swapping. Unfortunately, we were restricted on space, but this issue is already solved for next year. We will be able to place another 200 cars next year ans even more swappers if need be.

We are signed up there for the next 4 years and we are happy to call the Phoenix Club the home to this event for the forseable future!

I'm probably mistaken however I thought the red speedster was Bob Campbell's?

Bob does have a "well-patina-ed" Speedster, but it's black (mostly), not red. 8)

Like I said, probably mistaken. I knew it had a great Patina and that he had it a long time. For some reason I thought it was red! Thanks,

Believe you are talking about Steve Brown's speedster. There is no rust on the car just an old paint job that is cracked and glazed. He drives it all the time and the car has interesting history with no accident damage and all the gaps match. Steve posts on talk, and may want to chim in.
