Hey Greg,
Thanks for clearing that up - I couldn't check the magazine as I'm now based in Bangkok, and it's back home in Adelaide for safe keeping!

I did not see an example of aquamarine metallic, available only in 1956 and 1957, here are a few photos of a restored Speedster I did in 2010. The paint color was carefully matched to the original paint which was still on the car. This car scored 299.3 at the St. Charles Parade, the same score as the infamous 'Goodrich 1958 Speedster'.

Why most Ivory (5704) we see nowadays are more pale than the correct and original color? Francesco's car is very similar in color to mine... but most 5704 Ivory cars I see are very close to white... I mean there is a lot more yellow at the Ivory cars than what we see on most unrestored cars.
Here you see my Carrera Cabrio inside the garage:
Outside the garage:
And my T2 Coupe - unrestored but almost white:
What happened with these cars to become so pale after 53 years?

Freddy
My take on that question ( regarding color hue), is that the Factory color was inconsistent at times.....I remember different hues of Ruby Red that left the factory. My favorite early Ivory is the one that looks like AGED IVORY ,ALA your Cabriolet.

Absolutely right Freddy! The right 5704 Ivory is like ... Mayonnaise !
Under the neon become more yellow and under the sun light is more ...light
For my experience Glasurit 5704 is the original (Porsche always used Glasurid) , the Standox (i don't know why) become little more clear and with Dupont and Sikkens always more clear BUT ... with a "point" of wrong green !
Really i don't know why.
If you ask to a professional of car paint at 90% say that are all the same but (for this 5704) ... for me no.
Ciao!

You have a gorgeous car Francesco!! It looks a mixture of my both 356s... Is it a Carrera GS/GT with the 4 cam engine there? If so I guess you do your maintenance service with Armin Baumann as well!!

Here is my '56 *57501* in it's cardex original Aquamarine Blue metallic w/red "kunstleder" interior. It is an all original California black plate matching numbers and original "V" sunroof car. I've owned it for about a year and a half. Used to belong to my neighbor. One of my all time favorite 356 color combos! Love, love this car!!!

Here's my other 356, Speedster *82236*. Also a matching numbers "Bee-Hive" '56. On the Cardex it says "red" without a color code with interior in schwartz kunstleder. The red is a warmer more tomato red. I like the look with the black Glasspar. My nickname for my Speedster is "Sgt. Schultz"!
