Here are a set of Anderson plates On my 55 speedster, I have just bought the car from someone right here on the registry (thanks Bill) I have the plates back home now in the UK, and am awaiting for the car to be shipped over.
does anyone have any info or pictures of the Anderson dealership in San Jose, I cant find anything at all on the internet. The only place I have seen it mentioned is on the dealer list on the Samba.
I am also looking for any info on the early life of this car or the original owner, believed to be Mr Richard Matthews living in San Jose until at least 1972 when he sold the car.

Correct dealer for my 1963, but obviously a post 68 version since it has Audi on it too, looking for the earlier Porsche/VW version.

I'm from Santa Barbara and can shed a little light on our local Porsche dealers. Gary Van Wyk (still alive and doing quite well) began the long line of Porsche dealers in town. He was fundamentally a VW dealer who added the Porsche line when they started to come to California. By the time I got started with Porsches in 1973 the dealer was Lavia Porsche/Audi. That plate frame was on my first Porsche--a 914 from 1973. (This was 1974). Not long after it became Gregg Motors and later still it all became part of a big operation known as the "Santa Barbara Auto Group." They sell pretty much every foreign quasi exotic car made, from Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar, BMW, Range Rover, and of course Porsche.

My 1964 356C was a one-owner car until my friend Ed, who bought it from Gary Van Wyk in early 1965, gave it to me when he died in 2014. I'm now the second owner. A ruby red over black Karmann coupe, it was the first C model in town when Ed got it from Gary. Unfortunately, the plate frame for that car probably disappeared in the 1977 Sycamore Canyon fire when Ed's house burned to the ground. Fortunately, the car survived and sits in my garage near my 2006 Carrera S cabriolet (in paint to sample blue turquoise, which I picked up in Zuffenhausen). I'm hoping to find one of those frames someday in the bottom of a box or two if it did survive the fire. Ed was one of the early presidents of the local PCA Santa Barbara region and proudly had the "PCA SB" vamity plate on it for decades. I just recently acquired a black over gold vintage version of that plate to make it a bit more period correct. I'm going to keep looking for a Van Wyk plate frame just to get it back to is original configuration.

In light of the new technology of 3-D scanners and affordable 3-D CNC printing machines, one would think that the reproduction of these flimsy original plate frames would be quite plausible, and reasonably priced.

There are a couple of different Van Wyk plate frames. These are handed down father to son and best friend. Years ago I remember trading the plate frames for original wind deflectors for an A Car.
So you know the people in SB to contact. They are at your breakfast on the Wharf the seconds Saturday of the month. One guy has a grey pony tail and has the e-nails for all kinds of people on the Central Coast. Best friend!
Now you friends at the Camarillo Breakfast show up in newer 911's but have 356's in their garage. Ask around maybe the name Kent might help.
Maybe Joe, at Schneider's knows of a Dentist who moved away to South Carolina and could have one in his stash.

Bob Campbell told me 30 years ago at Pomona that owning a 356 and finding parts is a Quest!
Don't ever give up. It is truly who you know not how much money you are willing to pay.
btw: You SBR PCA Badge came in two versions. Original sold out then they changed design and then created a second badge.
Also there is a CCC356 Club in your area and they had a badge at one time. See Jerry at the Lit Meet.

There was a pin with a 356A on it from Vasek Polak. It is red. Saw one for the first time last Thursday. Too Cool for School. A pin like you would pin to your name badge at an event. Brass clip on back.

Not a dealership, however the Bursch Exhaust plate frame on Craig's Speedster is really cool none the less.

DAN....some correction on the SB P-car dealers.....
I was the Service Writer (#1 'Gopher) at Lavia Porsche/Audi and Ferrari on State Street, one block north of Hwy 1, during my Jr year at UCSB. Lavia sold out to an 'investment group' that moved the dealership, minus Ferrari, to a larger facility in Goleta, and renamed it Trans-World Motors....selling only Porsche and Audi (100LS's and Fox's). I continued to work there, in New Car Sales (I remember BOXES, full of 'tool kits', and we GAVE AWAY those little Porsche Key pouches....to prospective buyers....OMG) for one more summer. Made good $$$ and watched a few people (at the Dealership) become completely worthless A-holes from using cocaine....
Then, I believe it went on to Gregg Motors. My house in Mission Cyn was just outside the 'burn zone' of that Westmont Fire....but I knew of at least 4 Porsches that were burned to death.
I still have a 'Lavia" plate frame...but no Trans World frames.
Anyone that misses the 'Old Santa Barbara, from the 70's.....it still exists, only now it's called Santa CRUZ !!!!!

I am looking for a dealer frame from Pensacola, FL. It would have been Superior Motors VW/Porsche which later changed to University VW and Porsche. Later when the companies separated, Bill Campbell took over the Porsche franchise and relocated it back to old Navy Blvd location until he sold the business.

Has anyone ever see a Carson Shoenfeld License Plate Frame out of Marietta Georgia? Just purchased a 64 356 C who was the original owner who purchased the car there in November of 1963.
