My wife and I were visitors from New Zealand and were kindly loaned this beautiful 58A Coupe for the weekend.

Those were very nice photos by Rafic and John. There are obviously some really nice 356 cars over in Australia and of course many RHD. The 51 split screen looked very nice, the early cars are so interesting to me maybe because my brother had one for many years which was also a 51 coupe chassis 10964 and together we had a 52 coupe 11789.

His 51 coupe a 1300cc was converted to 1500cc and converted also to RHD. The previous owner in the 60's put ATE discs on the car! and eventually the syncro box from the 52 car replaced his original crash type box.( not so easy as I remember to fit in as some engine compartment sheet metal work had to be modified.)

I felt sorry for owner of the green carrera shown with the heavy dent in the back. A lot of money to repair no doubt.

John was your 1950 356 supplied new to Australia?

I am in New Zealand, not Australia. Just visiting there for the parade. Our 1950 Cab was new in the US. We have only owned it for 12 months.
