Agreed, I understand that there are many detail differences in a Carrera body. It will be interesting to see these details.

Hi Jon, As James has posted, it looks stunning.
Long ago I too owned a 1956 1500GS Carrera and the damage on my car was very close to what you have been dealing with. In fact so close at first I thought someone had taken photos of my old car !
Looking at your photos there is only one comment I would like to make, and it is not made as a criticism, I only offer it as hopefully helpful advice. It is also quite difficult to see exactly from the photos. It is common with a number of restorations.
On the front wings, around the top part of the front wheel opening should actually be quite vertical. It does not lean out at an angle, it is more vertical.
As I have said, it is quite hard to see exactly from the photos, but if this is any help to you, or might give you the chance to check the shape of this area against an original undamaged A model, I hope it allows you to be sure your car is correct.
I was lucky to have a restorer with skills comparable to yours, but it was a change I had to ask for, to get it as right as possible.
A great model of 356 with the beehive tail lights, and shine down, and that engine. Good luck, jim.
