#1 Post by Curtis Batchelder »

Dropped off at an Orange County paint and body shop, for R 505 or something close but upgraded Fish Silver Grey.

He will do a great job, I predict, it’s amazing how many 356’s he’s done. Great painter.

Anyone heard or seen this color "Dunkelblau Lack" for the Dash, Door Caps and Rear Interior Trim? Very dark Black w/ Bluish tinge on the Reuter Book sample, when I translated the color name it came up as Dark Blue. All original parts had been stripped and repainted several times, so no original reference paint is available on this Euro Delivery 53' Coupe.

Hey Curtis, i had the same problem on my 52. The car is fish silver and the dash and door tops were also fish silver. James Davies sent me a paint code for the dark blue these parts are supposed to be. I had my paint guy match it as close as possible. i'll try to dig it up for you.

Hey Jules,

That would be super if a paint code could be found. I just forwarded the information to the painter as well, he shoots German paint, Appreciate the effort on my behalf as I am in the decision crunch now.

Picked it up last week, right on time, right on price. Impressive shop owner / painter, stand up guy, great crew.

30 yrs experience, German paint (improved # 505 Fish Silver Grey) Glasurit, 2 stage, Dunkel Blau Dash and door caps / trim.

Very pleased customer!
