Oh, and Jules, my car has LOTS of extra leg room. And will blow your D away as if it where a derelict mini-van.

Hi Eric,

feel free to blow my D away. I am more of a cruiser anyway. If I want to blow cars away i'll just drive a modern car. My daily driver also has a lot more leg room than my D and it even has AC, adaptive cruise control, navigation, and it practically drives by itself! And even though it has 400hp, it does not put a grin on my face, but a 356 with 75hp does it to me every time, even when i get passed by all the minivans on the road. To me personally it is a lot more fun to drive a slow car fast than to drive a fast car slow.

the stone gray was copied from a 1959 A coupe, which still had its original stone gray from the factory and we copied the color from under the dash pad. It was then custom mixed to match and both my my painter, the owner of said 1959 A coupe and I were in agreement it was a match. Both cars were then painted one after the other with the same color in the same booth by the same painter. The stone gray 58 speedster and the 58 coupe that are local to me also look pretty close. (see pic). So unless we have 5 color blind people here, it's pretty close.

My 52 has a push button start as well. There is no way in hell that is faster than just an ignition key, as you first have to turn on the ignition with the key on the left and then push the starter button on the right.

That was not Moss's secret.

A nationally known artist would know nothing about color—no worries there.

You tell me, since you claim to be the color expert.

Stone gray was only available on A T2 cars as a special order color. It's more green than gray if you ask me, but who am I to judge.

By the time the Bt5 came around it was heron or slate gray, for the C cars (as pictured) you could only get slate or dolphin gray.

But then again, as long as the customer paid, they would paint it any color you want.

So right there, like this one, Havana Brown.

Jules, if you take a white sheet of paper, make about a thumb sized hole in it, set it on car body, photo it, we will know. Your color looks a bit yellow tan to me, but let us find out and stop squabbling like old fish wives.

I agree with Jules. Really? Do you also have a fake Rolex from Hong Kong with a modern Seiko movement in it? You're probably trolling the vintage Rolex forums, arguing with them that your watch is better than their old junk. How's that going for you? Making friends?

It is said that the key was to the left so you could use the right hand to engage the gear for a quicker start.
If the car has a push button for the starter that should be on the left side, the car would be left with the ignition switched on........
On one photograph the speedometer was shown incorrectly on the right of the tachometer on others correctly to the left?

I usually don't wear a watch. When I do, it's my father's old Omega chronometer which has some cool stop watch type features. Although the leather band snapped recently. Thanks for reminding me. I had heard that most 356 owners had turned into a bunch of prigs. Still curious if that is true.

If you would like to read more about my project and the movie that Animal Media is making, please go here: quantumrun356.com.

The trailer has already won 6 awards: https://vimeo.com/207718628

Enjoy your cars. In my mind ANY 356 is more joy on the road than about anything else.

+1
Eric; your father must be proud.
Vic, the major prig. Spell it however you wish.
PS. Maybe time to move this to OFF Topic and re-name it "Bragging about myself because the rest of you are jerks".
Sorry, Doug, I had to throw him one more bone.
