356 for the Memory of my Father

My dad, Marshall Green died 36 years ago today. I'm trying to create a poetic 356 for his memory and am driving it across northern America as a way of connecting with him since he owned the first 356 in Canada in 1952.
Here are a few photos of the project. Any thoughts or comments are fine. I've been a professional artist for almost 50 years. After the cruelty of the art world, everything is pretty smooth going.

Thank you, Thomas. I had 40 years to consider every texture, color, etc. Porsche never had that much time. This is completely obsessional for me. Did you watch the movie trailer? Animal Media is making a documentary.

Questions: Conv D windshield, beehive taillights. Inner door handles, window winders, heater outlet all in non-typical locations.
What type of exhaust is that?

Exhaust is completely custom. Engine puts out over 150 hp.

are you keeping the repro gauges? Please say no...
i like the looks of it. A pre A convertible D. What did you start with? That hump in the floor, the inner door handles and the engine lid release all make me think VW Beetle platform / fiberglass kit on top? I love the stance.

Eric, what a wonderful tribute and personal journey. What part of Canada are you considering venturing to? What have you got for an engine.

I hope to cross into Canada by the Blue Water Bridge at Sarnia, then back in US at 1000 Islands Bridge. I'm picking up my old friend Kris in Watertown, New York. We drove all over New England in 1975 in my 1956 356A 1600S. He is dying of Parkinson's D. and we want to relive our driving days together one last time.
Why do the gauges look retro? If you send me nice real ones I'd be delighted to put them in.
As far as I know, absolutely no VW platform or parts. 356s never look quite right built that way, do they?
