I was installing new axles in the differential on the 519 transmission from my 56 356A coupe.
I notice a small crack where the pin goes thru. See attached photo.
It is VW part number 111.517.121A.
There is one on eBay for $100 but it is for a 356C.
Does anybody know if that would work?
Or anybody know where I might find one?

Re: Differential Housing
C will work. Be sure it isn't cracked also.

Re: Differential Housing
I sourced mine for my '61 for very few pennies from a dumped/abandoned early split case VW trans. You have to have it machined as the profile is too wide (high)? for the Porsche case. In its original form it was incredibly robust ....
My re-builder suggested it, I sourced it and he had the work done and it works a charm. An option to explore ?
