Flapper Boxes!
Which kind of Flapper Boxes should I use for my engine rebuild?
With single or dual flapper?
I got 3 different flapper boxes and I can't find the right set to use for my 1958 1600 Normal engine. Going to be used in a 1960 T5.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Jens

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=36646&hilit=heater+flapper+box Jens Do you want to be original? Is your 60 a single mount or dual mount transmission? A 58 engine would have had single flapper boxes. Early 60 with single mount transmission single, later dual flapper box. Hope the link helps.

Re: Flapper Boxes!
I would like it to be as original as possible. Transmission is a dual mount.
After reading the topic you referred me to, it does make a bit more sense.
Thanks for the help,
Jens

Re: Flapper Boxes!
You could also look for a good non rusted pair of 912 boxes and modify the connecters with the part Precision matters sells. That is what I did on my 65 C http://www.precisionmatters.biz/air-cha ... levers.php Or if rich enough or desperate enough, buy new: http://www.stoddard.com/61610604200-nla.html

Re: Flapper Boxes!
I have got 3 different pairs so I can choose which pair to use. One of them are for a Pre A.
Will get a set from Precision Matters so they will work properly.
Thanks again,
Jens
