I thought it about time I posted photos of my Pre A project. 51746 is a 1953 model year 1500 Super, completed on 8th February 1954 and consigned to Sonauto in Paris. It was Adria Blue R509 with beige leather interior, a radio, antenna, windscreen wiper system, fog lamps, chrome wheels, Beck pneumatic fuel gauge and additional horn. There seems to be a good chance (but I haven't definitively proved it sadly) that it was then brought to the US by Gleb Derujinksy, the fashion photographer for Harpers Bazaar and an amateur racer. His is a nice story anyway, so I'll simply have to hope it's true.

The photo collage that follows shows the car as I bought it. Much more to follow as the car is now ready for its top coat of Adria Blue. I'd love to see some photos of Adria Blue cars if anyone out there has one they're happy to post.

At the paintshop. I know it's a bit back to front - bodywork pics will follow - but I'm having 'fun' getting to grips with a photo collage app and keep not quite getting there with some of my other attempts.

Thank For Pic Doug, Love Them Pre A's I know how is. took years to get my 54 back on the road, just a little newer then yours, but it is worth it. Your car is looking good, still a lot of work to go. As we all know it is one step at a time. All you need is time and money. good luck. Cheers Al

Alfred Tje Adria Blue PreA isn't mine just posted to show color. I painted my 65 C Adria Blue Metallic which is lighter and metallic of course. If you can imagine the Adria Blue car in the link lightened with Silver Metallic by 50% that is what mine looks like.

After a long silence, here are some photos of the painted Pre A. It was painted was back in late 2016 / early 2017 but ran into some problems and had to be stripped and re-painted all over again. Naturally this stalled the project, but it was worth it and I'm very pleased with the outcome. Here are some photos of the car at Spike's Vintage Restoration in the UK where Andy Finch and the team did a great job.

Hi Oliver
Indeed it is. There were at least two Adria blues, both metallic and very silvery in certain lights. The 53-54 Adria Blue is blue-silver like mine. It was discontinued for a while and re-introduced in 55 when it was green-silver like the Denis Jenkinson car. There are plenty of threads and photos on the topic.
Phil
