My 64 coupe project
I picked this up a month or so ago. I plan to do a full body restoration over the winter but I'm just going to get it running and drive it like it is for the summer.
The day I picked it up.

Lovely! I do hope it's not too far off being used, it'll be a lot of fun.
I'm a bit ahead of you with mine, it's raring to go but held up for a substantially rebuilt steering box. Needed a new peg and they didn't want to turn the heat treatment oven on till it was full. Hopefully Tuesday.

Re: My 64 coupe project
Well. It has some rust underneath that will need addressed and lots of minor problems to be expected from a car that's been sitting for 20ish years or more. I already rebuilt the carbs and the brake system including all four calipers. It starts and drives now but I need to go through the electrical and I want to shore up some of the rust near the structural areas for safety sake.
This winter I will really dig into it. It's not matching so my long term plan to refresh and use a 912 motor that I have in my shop and maybe put this engine in my 62 split bus.

When I rebuilt the carbs they were surprisingly clean after sitting all these years.

Calipers were pretty rough. I had to resort to the old grease gun trick.

Nice family you have there! Do I spy another (beige) 911 too?
I did the greasegun trick on mine too. Worked well but took a while to clean them up.

Re: My 64 coupe project
Good eye. I have a 68 normal coupe and a 68L coupe stored in another building. The L is going to be a swb hot rod project and the normal will stay original. The orange one in the background is a 70T non matching car that I had plans to build as a hot rod as well. It's just had all of the body work and paint done. It is going to be for sale soon to fund the other projects. The split bus I think was originally an early camper conversion. I plan to restore it as well and make my kids go camping with me in it.

Thanks. I still have a lot to do to make it a solid trouble free car but getting it on the road was nice.
