Tips and trics needed for uninstall tranmsision

#1 Post by Helge Tielker »

Does anybody has video's from uninstalling motor and/ or transmission on the 356 model ....
I need some tips where to take care of when uninstalling the motor and the transmission ...
Uninstalling the engine seems not so difficult .. re-installing same, how about removing & installing the transmission?

Check number and position of plates at front trans mounts before removing. Put them back the same way when reinstalling. Take pictures before you take any area apart. Watch "Made by Hand"on YouTube.com to get an idea of tilting engine to clear axel tubes when removing and installing the engine. Remove your oil dipstick before removing the engine. Single mount trans? Or dual mount? If you do not have a shop manual get a reproduction from Der White. Contact in Vendors section.
