Shifter Tunnel Dimensions for 1960B coupe T5 Required

#1 Post by ScottBerry »

I am in the process of refurbishing the tunnel due to the usual rot around base/flanges which resulted in cutting out material. It would help if members could provide some measurements to assist with the recreation. I understand there were a number of variations over the years for the tunnel and that the “B T5” is different – for example indent on drivers side near at the front. It looks like it was mangled a bit but am told that was how Hans and the team banged it into shape at the factory.

Measurements required:

(A) Height of tunnel from top to base of metal flanges – having cut off the bottom few inches uncertain of accurate height – it looks like about 2 and 3/8 “
(B) Overall length – from end to end
(C) The width at the front end – it looks like it tapers in on the driver’s side a bit
(D) The tunnel base sits below the horizontal line from the flange base of the inner longitudnals. How far below is this below the inner longitudinal flange?
Thanks as always
