Glove box

#1 Post by Craig Jordan »

Would it be possible for someone to take a photo of the glove box latch on a T6. Not the latch on the box lid the part on the dash that the latch clips into. It looks to have a bolt hole in it but I can't see how the latch clips in? I'm assuming I have a bit missing.

Thanks in anticipation of your help.
Craig

Here is a picture of the one on my 64C.
It's a magnet that is quite similar to a magnetic latch used on kitchen cabinets.

David thanks for the photo

Sorry mine is a RHD T6 therefore the dash is the same as the T5 with the latch in the middle. Could anyone help with a photo?

Cheers Craig

David you are missing one of the holding pieces on your C latch. Craig I emailed a friend with a 62 and asked him to take a photo for you. I know I have the lock in spare parts and am waiting to see pic of what you need so I can look for it. Parts stash of late friend who owned a 60 Roadster for 40 years.

Those little clips are very difficult to get hold off.

I have been trying to get 2 for over a year.

Countless adds on the registry and samba with no luck.

If anyone knows where I can pick up 2 please get in touch.

Of course my friend with the 62 is missing that piece. Here is the best photo I have found that MAY show your missing piece.

Doug

Thanks for your help. I'm guessing you don't have the part in your stocks?

Cheers

Haven't found it. I did find 2 different style locks but no latches. I would call(not email) Jim or John at EASY They might have it.

Here is another pic of what appears to be a different latch. Unsure what you need.

The photo of David Lawrence shows the magnetic catch for a 356C .

All the other photos are latches for 356B T-6 and earlier.
