Those are reproductions. They are very close to the original. I have compared coupe and notchback dome lights. The variations seen has been minimal. Some reproductions are not high quality. These are Stoddard. Seem to be just fine and fit perfectly.

Interior install progressing. Have learned that by wetting the carpet, the installation goes so much better. The left side panel went in so fast once it dried. I needed to bulk up the base of the front rear panel with underlayment. Otherwise the side panel was too high and it left a void. With the filler, the carpet flowed well and also covered the base of the rear panel. Wet fit, adjust a bit, let dry, glue and trim. The middle rear portion, over the transmission hump went well once it was moist. I applied some heat with a portable steamer. That seemed to softer the backing even more. No need for release cuts until it was glued in. Panel by panel! Patience....

Autos International, specifically Dorian, requested I send him my back seat bottoms. I had a half a hide of leather that went to him as well. He is probably going to remake them for me. Soooo, since I am waiting I decided to uncover the engine and install the clutch and throw out bearing. I went to order a new bearing but the cost was way up there. I have several new 912 bearings so I decided to make the switch.
1. Remove the throw out bearing glide tube
2. remove studs
3. counter sink tube assembly
4. modify the lower front wings of the bearing to allow it to glide further forward on the tube
5, get some screws that fit
6. Install. I did not have the retaining clips so I have ordered those. Now I am ready to finally run-up the engine on the test stand.
I will take some pictures of the first run-up next. Our first rain today. In Northern California it is a sign that the hot summer is now OVER.

Here is what the back seat looks like since Adrian at AI remade them. I remain lost at driving the hold down metal piece into the carpet.

Today I decided to install the engine. It ran very well at first start. No real problem during install. It really helped to have the lifts.

I really do recommend stuffing a paper towel into the carbs when the air cleaners are off and work is being done around the engine.

David, in your second photo showing the bottom of the engine, you have the piece of sheet metal with the dimpled 'X' installed between the heater boxes. Is that just a friction fit? How does it work with the rear engine bay sheet metal that surrounds the lower half of the drive pulley? Thanks.

Mark, here is a picture of the tabs that hold the heat deflector in. This part is a reproduction as mine had been discarded back in the 70s, by me, one of the times I rebuilt or removed the third piece for some reason. I did not bend the tabs all the way as that is all that was need to retain the panel.
