1963 bt6 front trunk restoration

#1 Post by Jennifer Nowling »

Working on the front trunk area of our project and I notice different 356 cars withe different versions of front trunk coatings, paint etc... Does anyone know ow they were originally done or can send me a link to the topic. It looks like pre treatment, propimer, Cody colored paint, and then I'm unclear if the entire front trunk is texture coated, and then repainted body color or left in black Schutz coating or should it be top coated with something else....
Thanks for anyone that can give me a clue :?:

hi jn the short answer is it all depends. mostly i would say flat black but your finished color choice matters also. is your car for show? the authenticity section folks have probably hammered out the correct application so you might want to search there also the restoration books will have answers flat black makes it dark in there engine tin silver gray might be nice rb
