Jim there's much information at all on the Kardex, so will assume it's a normal horn.

Claudio, what a find!

A belated update. Work has been progressing, Mark has made a jig for the car and there are several new bits of tin on the way from the very helpful people at Restoration Design.

Lots of welds being carefully unpicked around the floors.

Bodywork happening again after a short break for all the usual reasons. One sill rebuilt. Mark made the sills after the bought ones turned out to have the wrong radius.

Looking good Scott!

On the longitudinals, which were the ones that were the wrong radius? Would be good to know.

Hi Jim, I haven't spoken to the vendor concerned yet so reluctant to name them until I do. I'm discovering there are so many variables with early 356s, this might be one of them. Here are a couple of pics though of the variance. The bought sills are red.

Ah right, yes those orange-primered rocker panels are well-known to be totally wrong. Don't use them unless you really need to. Not only are they the wrong curvature, but they're usually the wrong length too. Ack.

Yes, they were the wrong length too! They'll be going back.

Stoddard's email newsletter from Thursday indicates they have the old-style rockers back in inventory.

The curve looks correct, but you would have to check with them and confirm the length.

Pricey but speaking from experience, modifying the curvature and adjusting the length of the newer style panels is very time consuming and costly too.

Thanks Spencer. When we discovered they weren't right coachbuilder Mark built new sills using the originals for radius etc. Not sure how good the Stoddard's set are but this is as close to factory original as I'll ever get. He's even used the exact same gas weld spots that the factory did.

Floors in, perfect fit from Restoration Design. Remade diagonals and trunk floor in, with a lot of tidying of various sections in the area and leading edge of nose panel.

Would anyone know the correct stampings for the engine pan? There's a part available from several vendors (pic attached) that is said to be suitable for all 356s. It doesn't exactly match the stampings on the engine pan in the car. (Current stampings have been outlined in the pics). There is a strong possibility though that the existing engine pan wasn't original either. Any help appreciated.
