We Can Save Them All!
Are you up for the challenge? Can you save the hopeless? Stoddard NLA wants to help save the worst 356 in the world this year by giving away $5000 worth of free sheetmetal and $2500 in other parts for one lucky car (and owner!) Inspired by the recent barn-, field- and yes, even lake finds, Stoddard wants to help restore the most challenging 356 project in the world, as chosen by the members of the 356 Registry.
Starting now, we are encouraging all 356 Registry members—professional shops included!—who are starting a restoration project to post images of their car here in the 356 Projects area on the 356 Registry Talk List Forum. We encourage you to post pictures, information and how you found your decrepit starting point—we will be using one thread per car, where 356 Registry Members can all discuss the merits (or lack thereof) of each of the entries.
The top (or is that worst?) three cars will then be chosen and on May 8th, 2015, the 356 Registry Members will vote for the overall winner from these final three. The voting will be open from May 8th through May 31st and the winner will be announced in early June.
More information can be found on the Stoddard website here:

OK, Adam,
$50 for one of those hinge covers with a serial number on it.

Suggest that name of the owner of the car to be restored be kept confidential during the member voting to avoid any conflict of interest

Re: We Can Save Them All!
We actually want this to be an open (and fair!) vote. It's open to individuals and shops…and individuals who have cars at shops.
One question that just came up was how do we tag the folks that want to be entered into this contest?…and what about those who have already just recently started a build thread on a project? We're open to suggestions--maybe a tag at the beginning of the title "WCSTA" for "We can save them all" ?

I think I may have one if the "top three" cars in my garage! I will have to go to my old computer to get a pic. It is a wreck of a mostly complete 1965 C that is awaiting the start of restoration while my wife parks outside.

Re: We Can Save Them All!
How about my Daytona winning A Coupe. It will need every bit of the $5000 in sheet metal.
But I would rather the stuff go to some guy doing a car himself.
Cool contest!

Please start a new thread for each entry in the Projects Forum -
Put in the Post Subject:
WCSTA - Your year and model and Serial Number
Posting pictures will be very important for you to build support of the members. If you are challenged in this regard, let me know and I'll help you out.
This should be good!

Re: We Can Save Them All!
Jim Watson ran it as a 1300 during the 66-67 season. He said he brought it to Daytona, the Factory Healey Team showed up, as well as the Factory MG Team, he punted them all off the track and took the checker. I'm doing research now, so far I have 8mm film footage of it running at Courtland. I'll keep digging.
Jim is better known for running his Spyder.

Re: We Can Save Them All!
it seems that the term ''Stoddard wants to help restore the most challenging 356 project in the world'' is not quite right!
as its just been mentioned to me you have to be a US resident, that obviously means the world stops at the US coastline or it was an error writing up the rules....

My apologies,
Unfortunately, US contest laws / issues make it impossible for us to do this as a worldwide contest. I will adjust our edit to match the official boilerplate.

Neil, I haven't put my hat in the ring on this one, I am hoping someone who is working on their own car wins. Also, my next personal project doesn't have much metal.
