I love this build; it is inspired by grit and determination. Keep up the intensity and report back often!!

when i got the car the agreement i made to myself was whatever i find i will deal with. so lots of these issues are intimidating. many of my remedies are disappointing what the po's did to keep it rolling and then neglected are also disappointing. but if it wasn't so rough it would not have been kicked to the side and passed by so that i could get it and have so much fun ( not exactly fun) bringing it back. i see the steering wheel and those guys drove the thing a lot. i believe i'm getting closer to me driving it

fitting the floor panels now, trimming clipping grinding, the steel is like butter, malleable, formable , agreeable, but then again little burns everywhere nicks cuts blisters and hacked up metal with these gobs of mig beads. stand back and the car ooses desire, organic love, like this rust and oily grime is the breath and blood of the universe . it's irresistable

it was a miracle. the pedal cluster horn has three studs coming up through the floorboard and the third one comes into the bottom of the channal. i stretched my arm in there and dropped the washer and it flipped on then the nut dropped and it slid on and then it caught half a thread with one flick of a finger. i was amazed

yes sebastian thank you , those little victories help overcome the inertia of all those areas that need attention . here's a question what items belong on the back side of the glove box door?

The plastic glycerin bottle with its hang tag and the package of fuses are both available as repros from Registry members, but I don't remember who from. No idea if the document pouch/contents are available.

finally figured a plan to deal with the situation with the nose and how they dealt with the fender replacement overlap. i found the right places to cut that section out and then trimmed the rusty overlapping layers out then banged the dents out and then migged this piece of heritage back in. when the time comes i'll grind on it and cover with a little plastic.

these are the pieces that patch the rear window leak rust in the torsion tube area. hard to bend the mind around how it was supposed to fit but in the end sitting with construction paper scissors and tape the shapes emerged. now they are on and the major welding underneath is done and the car is off the rack and back locked in garage. the next thing is i'm studying greg bryan's elec articles which leads me to next phaze. get the 2 liter vw and lights sorted. i'm planning on rebuilding 1600 super next year. we'll have to see
