ok folks, here's my report. in my last fiasco I spun the fly wheel bearing and boogered the dowl pin hole. I took it to brothers machine in Ontario and learned it is now junk so, I took my 75 super to them to; take apart, check, rebuild, and run in. I learned a lot playing with the as41 but now its on the back self. I stopped at the machine shop Tuesday and it seems the crank is ok , the cam is being rebuilt and they think they can start putting it back together soon. fingers crossed.

so I got the engine back from brothers machine in Ontario, thank you so much. we used mostly the same parts but spent time and money on the heads. the results on the dino were 103 hp and 125 torque. I was happy for the 1600 super. these last few weeks fiddle and fumble the engine in and so yesterday teddy helped finished wire connections to go from 12volt alternator(super bug) to 12 generator and fresh gas. oh man it sounds so good. the fuel line still needs work and I hope the clear that up and drive it off the rack. i'll send a pic

thank you SG yes exciting times. this project is so procedural. fix one thing and come face to face with some fresh trouble. now the trans is out, apart, being cleaned, painted, checked, inspected and saturated with the best parts available. oh yes friends don't forget the most essential components, thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars. ha

and then I think that lots of you folks have 10's and 10's and 10's of k's and some have 100's and 100's and 100's of k's and even there must be just a couple of people with millions in their car. so I guess money invested in 356's is well placed

yesterday i drove it. about 3 miles down to the beach to take a picture. the weather is hot, about 110 , and once we turned around, it didn't want to run up hill, then died and i had to call my friend to drive my truck down to pull us back with tow strap. today i fiddled with it, checked spark, reset the timing, saw that it wasn't showing a strong flow from fuel pump. i dumped a little fuel in carbs and it finally started. tonight i ordered kit for fuel pump so no more trips till that fp is convinced to work better. last week i sent for kit to rebuild master cylinder but it still is not happy after rebuild and has to be pumped to give any friction, no real pedal. tomorrow monkey with bleeding brakes again. so i'm pretty happy with how it is coming along. i spent alot of time working on paint in the last month, a couple of small cans of bondo and a gallon of rustoleum rolled on. much better but no skim coat of glazing so still pretty earthy. i hope i can get it to run better. the thing is, it's getting to be a lot better candidate to restore. yeah i'm happy
