Love the wooden buck! The fenders look like they're from a Pre-A/A or do my eyes deceive me?

ryan, yes it will be converted to RHD, not started on the dash yet but i'll post pics when i do.

i did buy my 356 from the states, i contacted adam wright here on the registry, great guy with a wealth of knowledge and a great deal of porsche parts and a few cars! lol

WOW !!! I thought I did some tough cars. This is over the top. Can't wait to see it finished. If you ever show it in a concour, you'll get my vote, no matter what.

small update, i have taken the front axle beam out and repaired the ends (inner and outer) it has a small twist in it from the accident i guess, its roughly 3 - 4 deg. the lower tube is further back on the left than the right. i have spoken to a guy here who has a 100 ton press that can tweak it straight for me then i can weld it in
i have taken a few pics of what i have done, the battery box is clamped in place, measured up square and level
the two side pieces on the rear battery box wall are supposed to slope backwards and i will make those again, i have started to make the piece that covers the front axle this weekend.

just for anyone who is wondering i am converting it to look older. I'm sure there will be gasps as I'm not restoring it to stock but lets face it, it was never going to be a matching numbers car and this is about what i want

i have a small update, i have hammered out an inner 1/4 panel on the sandbag and smoothed it on the english wheel. i had made some dies for the bead roller the same width as the beads on the old panel and here is the result, it still needs a little finishing but its close
i have made the first few inches of the outer 1/4 panel and starting to fit the lock post
little more wheeling at the top

This project really adds meaning to "made by hand".

Neil, she is coming together wonderfully. I am still speechless every time I look at the updates.

Like you said since it is not a numbers matching car, why not build what you want, and it is quite obvious you have the skill to do this.

Patiently waiting for the next update and the finished product.

the update i have for you is only small but its progress, i had to do more wheeling to the inner 1/4 panel to give it more shape so it met the chassis rail and the lock post, which created some issues i had to sort out. its been a very long time since i used an english wheel so things are taking a while to come back to me. but since i had put the folded edges into the panel that created the problems, in the first pic you can see i welded a new folded edge at the lock post, and the top edge along the window has a dip in it which i had to weld a new folded edge on
