Re: 356 bt6 restoration
(the rail is all 1.6mm)
i have a little piece on the bottom return and a small piece on the top return to weld in. i have to make up some of those threaded inserts that the torsion cover bolt to, then weld in the inner brace in and paint inside before finally welding the halves together...

Re: 356 bt6 restoration
thank you phil and greg
here is said bead roller... nothing exciting by any means!
just don't expect to do any beads in one pass... if you do it small pressure increases each pass it will cope ok. having it powered would be a great help and hopefully by the time i am ready for the outer panels it will be.
another toy i have which is a great help is this... shear, press brake, slip roll all in one. i would prefer a box pan folder and guillotine separate items but space is limited

Re: 356 bt6 restoration
made a little more progress, started to repair the r/h screen pillar so i can weld it to the hinge pillar
just before the return was bent all the way round angle cut, ready for trimming to size the return is bent all the way round now and the excess removed, i still have the outer skin to make up yet.
eagle eyed viewers will notice that the heater tubes don't match up from the hinge pillar to the screen vents but bear with me, all will be revealed later in the show lol

Re: 356 bt6 restoration
thank you phil
i have made a little progress it may look like a previous picture but that is the second bulkhead panel, i just wasn't happy with the first so i made another. the good news is this is welded in now but the centre brace is not. it is still held in with cleco's

Re: 356 bt6 restoration
Neil, great work. I'm just wondering how much of the original car is going to be left, or is it just a template for you to build a new one around. LOL
Loving the progress and the thread!
