Steve, I have a 1954 Sunroof in the exact same state of restoration here at my shop. I know how much time, talent and money it takes to do one of these cars. These pictures are a wonderful testimony to our cars, and the people who love, and take care of them.

Virgin ruby red paint was found under the ID plates on the aluminum panel in the door well. Paint is a dead nuts on match.

Beautiful; but turn the trailing arm bolts around, including the toe-in stop bolt.

Matt,

I agree with Jim, you've done a very good job and no one can imagine how many hours are used to reach these levels.
What will be the final colors combo?

Best Regards

Thanks, Luca, very pleased with Matt's extraordinary commitment to keeping all that original 54 year old German steel on the car (see nose repair and original jack spur repair for example). Very good "bones" to begin with - probably only 4.5 square feet of non-original steel for rust repair on the whole car including 3 square feet or so of the replacement floor on the drivers front side to the engine side of the pedals.

Paint is "dead nuts on" Ruby red, matching exactly the original paint found underneath the riveted ID plates on the door sill panel. Interior will be tan with red piping as shown on the COA and top black. Cheating though as the upholstery will be leather.

Looks great Steve. Nice series of pictures showing how it is done. Did you go with base coat/clear or single stage on the paint?
