Way to go Trevor!!!!! I am VERY happy for you. So is Bill as you already know. Please drop by at Wavecrest. We'll introduce you to a couple of characters who have each built 3 woodies (well, 4 in one case). Somewhere in this thread someone said do something to the car every day. One of the aforementioned guys said the same thing while talking about his '34. I specifically remember him saying how even with a roaring hangover he would at least walk out to his garage and pick up and lay out some bolts to tighten the next day, so long as he did something.

GREAT NEWS and congrats

I have 2 veeery old 356 engines in my mini-whs in Lake Castaic. I think one is a 2-piece case, but its been since I joined the Navy in 1981 that I last looked at them! are you still looking for an engine appropriate for your year?

Rosemary and Sonny - Thanks!

Craig - Yes, I'm interested. My proverbial "needle in a stack" is the exact number match engine, but I have no idea where it is. Please send me an email so we can discuss further, thanks!

Thank you all once again for your votes and Stoddard for holding the contest. I received my first shipment. It feels like Christmas in July to me.

OK Trevor, show us some welding :)! I live in China and am hungry for 356 content :).

Almost... I've admittedly found it a little challenging to work from home during the summer, have the kids out of school with me and find time to weld. My daughter and I just got back from Laguna Seca camping at the track and now the whole family is off to a wedding in Texas for a week. Once the kids are back in school I should be able to make progress.

Love the ear protection, one generation should really pass along things they've learned to the those coming along who haven't a clue. Good on you.

OK Trevor you get a by as even though you are not welding you are introducing the next generation to the Porsche world (and I am jealous you are at the Historics). Hearing protection is great - but where is yours? You need to be able to hear when the wife calls you for dinner and tears you away from welding :). Are you going to Rennsport Reunion V? If yes, I will be there with the Faux Cam. Hope to see you there.

Like Trevor, I always bring ear protection for my children when at the racetrack. You can get a decent pair for less than $10 at Harbour freight.

LOL, love it Per! I actually have been using my welder and El Cheapo English Wheel and friend's bead roller this past month. See the thread: Fender repair 101. I'm now starting to do the same thing on my car. I had to make some hinge receiver plates before I could hang my doors and had some help on the install from a Porsche tech who makes house calls - IE my son!
