Not quite as vintage as most of the pics in this thread, but probably about 44 years old. Laguna Seca Porsche Corral circa 1970

Here is a toy from my collection. It is the same as the one in the photo of the boy and his toys.
The Porsche 356 toy was made by Gescha in U.S. Zone Germany. The body is plastic and the chassis is metal. It is a friction toy so you run it across the floor to get it going. The light on top uses a rough flywheel and flint and sparks make if light up.

Gmünd 356/2-056 renumbered 356/2-063 according to Phil Carney.

This was a Tatra-built car that was completed as a 356SL at Reutter and entered at Le Mans in 1951. It was then exported to the US via Hoffman to Johnny von Neumann where it was converted to a roadster in mid-1952 and raced extensively. It was eventually owned by Ernie Spitzer in Fresno, CA.

There's a 1955 TBird parked behind it. What was being done to the car at that time?

Not sure if the Mexican car is a period photo. Sure looks cool though.

This is the 1500 Super engine in the earliest of Porsche's 550 at Le Mans 1953. Glöckler and Herrmann finished first in class in this car. Notice the dual-barrel Solex 40 P II instead of the single-barrel 40 PBICs of the standard 528 engine.

This photo is part of the Revs Institute Archive at Stanford University that just went live. Its a real treasure trove.

That's 550-10; the second place car, 550-02 won the class.
