Your old camping photo--
first the car a few in the back (Metropolitan) reminds me of my first car in 1960 (a 57 Metropolitan convertible).
second, I had a good friend (Bert Philipps) who died about 3 years ago--he had a couple of Speedsters back in the 50s and used them as the family car when he first got married. He also raced them at Montgomery, once at Watkins Glen and once at Sebring. He told me he and his wife loaded up the Speedster with the pup tent, camping stove and cooler of beer and drove it from DC to Sebring, where they camped out and he drove the car in the 12 hour race and actually finished. Then the broke camp and drove home. That's what sports cars were like then. Not so much today.
