On to the five chrome wheels which I ordered from NLA for my Roadster!
Then painting the non-chromed parts.

Carl:
Great to see Harvey and Linda's car being restored. My late wife, Anne, and I met them at the 1976 Parade in Brainerd, Minn. They brought a very clean, original, unrestored 904, with a price tag of $25,000. We thought hard about buying the car, but we'd bought our first house two years earlier so just couldn't swing it. The car was just as it had come from Porsche, lumps and all, and it contrasted sharply with an over-restored version there that looked "better" but ran worse.
Harvey & Linda were dedicated and talented people, and they knew how to have a good time. Linda was a contributing editor to Panorama, and they were known for great 356s. In fact, they restored Speedster number 5, which is now owned by a friend here in Colorado. If you talk to Harvey, please tell him I said "Hello."

Shortly after my birthday I made a quick trip from my Illinois home over to Lincoln, Nebraska to see for myself the progress of my baby in Terry's automotive maternity ward. It was a delayed birthday present, actually.
Here is a picture of my beloved Roadster, formerly Linda's Roadster, with Ibrahim Kuzu on the left and Terry Worick on the right. Teddy, the Labradoodle who serves as office mascot, parades around in the front looking for entertainment.

The bumpers are painted and chromed and ready for installation:
And here is that infamous Roadster windshield waiting to be installed... One of the few design flaws by Porsche. Installing these things without subsequent cracking has been very problematic. Just ask Bruce Baker... And don't get him started on the rubber seals!

As many of you knowing, rebuilding these cars is always a team effort. While Terry is a fine rebuilder, he doesn't have the experience with 356s that many members of the Registry possess in abundance. Knowing the problems with installing Roadster windshields as posted on 356 Talk, I have inundated Terry with these posts to forewarn him to look out for troubles to come. He also had the help of two great members of the Registry in this process.
I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to these members who have so generously offered their help to Terry. As always, über-wrench Bruce Baker has been there with his wealth of knowledge, and heartache, on these windshield installations.
Secondly, Roy Smalley of Eurowerks also deserves special kudos. Ibrahim's fellow Texan has often come to the rescue when many small parts were needed, but in this case he came up with a Sigla windshield that he was saving for one of his own cars, but didn't need at this time.
Thanks, Guys! My hat's off to both of you! We couldn't have done it without you!

YEAH! After wiggling around, reworking it, tweaking it, and praying to the Porsche gods, Terry successfully installed the windshield!
