For those of us who may just want to show up and gawk, will there be a 356 parking area similar to the Dana Point show?

Thanks,

Charles

The concours yesterday at Santa Barbara City College was quite a success. We had 41 judged cars and 36 display cars. I don't have a count on 356s but noted quite a few both judged and on display. Best of Show in Street Division was the beautiful Meissen Blue 1959 A belonging to Ed and Darlene Swain.

Also, a bunch of 356 guys (several from outside the Santa Barbara area) came and helped immensely in addition to showing their cars. Greg Young, Dick Douglass, Hamp Miller, Ed Swain were all judges. John Alfenito, our own Photo moderator, was a great help too. I'm sure I left some of you guys who helped out and I apologize for that. I was the chair of the event AND the M.C. for a bunch of stuff and more than had my hands full. I had little time to actually look at cars.

Today I'm looking over the hills at plumes of smoke and worrying about that AND about any of our friends out there nearer the flames, so, I don't have a lot of time to report.

However, most important, is, even if you're not named above, I REALLY appreciate the help from all quarters I received to help make this concours the fun event it was. I'm guessing that there were about 20 356s on the field.

Thanks to all and good luck and best wishes to all who may be affected by our fires.

Bill

As I type through the heavy smoke and ash of the San Fernando Valley wildfire(s)...
Kudos to event chair Bill Sampson, all the volunteers and participants of what was a truly beautiful event.

I was "working," photographing the show so, I drove the 911 and parked in the "Display Area" between an unrestored A-Coupe and a Carrera GT.
I guess I kinda won. 8)
