Thanks Bob for getting all of the registration up and running. I'm working hard on making this a special event. It has been 30 years since I put on a North South and things have changed a lot, however the basic idea is still alive and well. That means, drive a 356, show it off a little, kick some tires, have a beer or three, meet new friends and catch up with those you know. Most important is to have fun. San Luis Obispo has lots of places to find fun: Wineries, Breweries, Ocean, Backroads, Laguna Lake Park for the Saturday Concours, newly remodeled Embassy Suites Hotel, all make for a weekend not to be missed.

I just registered but noticed no selections for shirt sizes (if available) or banquet entrees.

Mike-
Thanks for registering and planning to attend the event in May. No shirts this year. We figured we all had enough event shirts collected over the years which are languishing in dresser drawers somewhere. The contents of the goodie bag are a well kept secret; I don't even know what's it it.

As far as the "banquet dinner choices" go, it's a buffet. You get to choose at the moment you belly up to the serving area. As noted, all the event meals are included in your registration fees.

Hi Mike, I think Bob said it all, trying to make it simple on everybody. You most likely won't wear what is in the bag, but you will like it years to come. The Concours Lunch is a San Luis style BBQ, and the dinner buffet is uniquely California and will have options galore.
It will be good to see you in SLO.

Bob and Steve,
EXCELlENT IDEA to forego the event T-shirts. I have drawings full of them.
Looking forward to the surprise goodie bag!
Thanks for all of your hard work in putting this on.

Dan it will be good to see you, and yes we don't need no stinking badges or t-shirts. You might be able to wear, but it might look a little odd. However the gifts for the co-registrants will be something your wife will like.
We have had a huge response for registration just around a 100 cars in the first 14 days. We set our goal at 150, and can take more, but register early to make sure we have enough goodie bags and banquet seats. We have requested another block of rooms at the "good price", plus there are several nearby hotels. So "You All Come", SLO has enough Beer and Wine...

Hi Steve,
I hope that there will be a pre-sign-up for seating at the banquet.
As I am sure you all know, it makes for a much more relaxed evening.
Thanks.

On Friday, April 17, we have reluctantly decided to cancel this year's North meets South, scheduled for May 14-17 in San Luis Obispo. As the time to the event approached 1 month, our concerns for the health and safety of our attendees made the decision mandatory.

Because many of us have been working for over a year on this event, it's disappointing to have cancel the event at the last minute; however we know we made the right decision. In doing this, we would like the acknowledge tireless work of Steve Douglas and the cooperation of the management of the Embassy Suites in helping us to reach a mutual decision on the event's viability as well as the help of San Luis Obispo County.

Going forward, 356CAR appreciates your great support for this year's event and keeping the tradition of North meets South going for 33 consecutive years! The 356Club of Southern California already has their plans underway for North meets South in May of 2021 and will announce their plans and location in the coming months. Additionally, we are happy to announce that Jenny Derich of 356CAR will be heading up the 2022 North meets South event. The tradition continues!

Until we all return to some degree of normality, whatever that entails, please stay safe and healthy. And "keep the 356 faith".
