The 2019 Southern 356 Drive & Georgia mountain party is scheduled for 19-23 September, covering Ferry’s birthday and also being one of the largest Drive Your 356 Day events. We will, as always, be based at Tanglewood Cabins on Highway 356 just outside of Helen, GA. The venue will vary a little to keep it fresh in events, destination drives, and activities. The laid back, have some fun attitude, drive your cars in great environs, bonfires, music, hospitality, good food, & more will be the same.

This year we have a two-part event which will take us from the Thursday activities through Sunday, an event all seem to enjoy so much. Plus, an add on event from Sunday afternoon ending Tuesday up in Highlands NC for a train excursion, luncheon, dinner and sightseeing.

I’d like to introduce our crew this time for Helen Five. Leonard Scrantz and I are the remaining members of the original founding crew of Helen One. Our 2019 crew is energetic with a few new ideas and plan improvements. They are: Daryle and Becky Higginbotham, Rudy Bernhard serving as our new finance minister and registrar and his wife Judy, Glen and Mary Getchell, and John and Lois Wolosick. 

We look forward to seeing you all at this 356 Registry regional event. Sponsors old and new are welcome and thanks in advance for your generosity in helping make this event happen. Operators are standing by for your calls.

We are still hammering out a few details and working on our website, so registration will not start 1 February as usual. Please watch this thread over the next few weeks for updates and a link to our website for registration.

I am relatively new to the 356 registry in the community. I just purchased my first 62 , 356B Coupe spring 2018 from a FOG member down near new Smyrna Beach Florida. I would like to join at least part one of the upcoming 2019 Helen Georgia mountain party event if registration is still available. I am friends with Fred Coward down here in Charleston, South Carolina. Both Fred and Curt Dansby have directed me to you for registration information. Hi Larry, nice to hear from you and welcome to a great group of folks in the Registry. Great club and great cars. As posted above, registration runs from 1-30 March; but we normally sell out in less than two weeks. I will be posting the link to our website on this thread about a week from today or so. Hope to make it this year. Have missed every single one due to registration filling up or being in California for other Porsche events. Look forward to discussing this more at the #FOGGOF in Lakeland, Florida this weekend.

Mark & Steve, look forward to seeing you this time as a first-time or a return guest. We try our best to run it right down the line for registration, first come, first served. Please get your completed registration form & check in via snail mail or FedEx.

We have to hold firm to our cap of 150 attendees total this year as last time we pushed the envelope to almost 180. We found that the fixed plant could almost not accommodate us; and the organizers could barely keep ahead of y'all.

The website registration form is a writeable pdf, so you can fill it out on line, then print it out, then total your numbers manually, then SIGN & DATE it, enclose a check for the totaled amount, and get it all on the way to the Registrar via mail. Incomplete or unsigned registrations will not be accepted, and will simply be returned to the sender.

Hope you are at the GOF and the weather is great. Always a wonderful FOG event. Hope to make it next year again, this time had to finish up details for the Helen V launch. Stay tuned.
