Cars and Coffee - Blenheim Palace UK

#1 Post by David Foster »

We attended the 1st Salon Prive "Cars and Coffee" at Blenheim Palace this Morning. We left a wet and Grey Purley in South London at 6am, the convetible top resolutly down. The heavens opened near juction 10 of the M25 on the way round London but cleared 2 hours later as we hit the M40 towards Oxford.

The approach to Blenhiem Palce through the manucured lawns, past the majestic lake and stone bridge is stunning. You are then presented with the awe inspiring frontage.

The main courtyard was reserved for the modern supercars, with the classics in more intimate side entrance. There was a great mixture from a Morgan Aero 8 convertible in 70's Porsche light green and silver, via a purple metalic Rolls Royce Phantom to a stunning David Brown DB6 evocation based on a jaguar XJR at £500,000 UK.

The participants and spectators were a friendly bunch, especially the large Chinese visitor who decided to sit in the Roadster without even asking permission, who did not seem to understand and continued to lean on and touch the bodywork.

It was great to event in unique surroundings.
