Nor Cal Tour April 9th

#1 Post by Steve Douglas »

April 9 - Saturday - Santa Cruz Mountain Drive.
Meet at Canepa Motorsports 4900 Scotts Valley Dr. Scotts Valley 95066
The day starts early with “Cars and Coffee”, Canepa’s first gathering for 2016, coffee and doughnuts, plus literally 100s of cars, just about anything shows up. Plan on being there by 8am, maybe 7:30 if you want a good place to park. Plenty to see, the museum upstairs, huge shop with some amazing cars being worked on, and the sales floor has 15+ Porsche. Lots of race history to be seen, from Lemans, Can-Am, Indy, IMSA, NASCAR and Salt Flats Speed Records. Then there is the parking lot, tons of interesting cars and people.
At 10am we will have a driver meeting, sign in and get your route instructions, look for a sign on top of one of the Porsches parked near the front door.
10:30 we will assemble and leave. There will be a 2nd meeting point a block away for those you cant get into the parking lot.
The drive will be totally backroads, some small and slow, others will be a bit bigger and faster, no gas along the way.
The drive will take about 1-1/2 hours, then a stop at a special Porsche related place.
Then lunch at Ella’s at the Airport, Watsonville Airport, arriving about 1pm. Lunch menu is wonderful, owner Tiffany “Ella” King owned a 356 and loves cars, so she is looking forward to our visit.
Afterwards there is an optional wine tasting in Watsonville two blocks from the restaurant.
All are welcome, even 9xx series Porsches, non-Porsches too following at the rear of the pack.
