Monterey Car Week - Pebble Beach Tour

As I already wrote last year about this free event, I always view this free display of about half of the Pebble Beach entrants with real fear that the thoughtless "civilians " who descend on Ocean Ave. will do real damage to these cars. Bluejeans with rivets, oversize, studded purses, canes, jackets with huge zippers tied around the waist.........the perils are endless. I'm genuinely puzzled how an owner can just leave his treasured car he has spend a great deal of time, energy and money restoring to Pebble Beach "standards" to the mindless hordes who won't pony up the price of admission to the Concours on Sunday, and inflict themselves on the displayed Tour participants in totally unmanageable numbers. The few rent-a-guards are untrained and of no use at all.

One can only wonder how long this event will continue without drastically improved crowd control.
