Doug & Genie Friedman's wonderful, casual Concours on Tuesday of Car Week on Ocean Avenue in Carmel just keeps getting better and better every year.
Attendance this year was up slightly over '12, it seemed the cars were selected more carefully with an eye on quality, and the early morning staging spectacle was managed much smoother and with a lot less stress than previously,,,,,,,,no one overheated this year idling endlessly.
Lots of photos from this event, since I must confess, it's one of my favorite venues of the week.
Photo #2 - Herb & Rose Wysard's "other" car, a '57 4-cam Carrera
Photos #5 & #6 - The reason I included this hot rod is because the license plate ( 05 AMBR ) caught my eye. Chatted up the owner, who mentioned it stood for "America's Most Beautiful Roadster" the title it won in '05 at the Nat'l. Roadster show, built by Steve Moal.
Photo #8 - the unique and quite extraordinary completely original '65 911, which was found in a garage in Palos Verdes where it had been stored since '81 I believe, with approx. only 60,000 miles, sold by European Collectibles in March during LA Lit show week.........no, it's not black, rather a very dark blue, and I repeat, entirely original.
Photo #10 - Gary Emory built '58 Outlaw - simply sensational

Re: Monterey Car Week - "Cars-on-the-Avenue"
.........and ten more, please.
Interesting cars, the VW chassis based, Porsche 356-engined Rometsch models, you go 20-30 years without spotting one, then 4 in one show. Please note the rear-hinged, front opening "suicide" doors.
Couldn't resist putting up another one of Emory's "hot-rod". If I could have chosen one car to drive home, up Hwy 1........

............and the final set of 10.
Photo #1 - the interior & dash of one of the restored Rometsch cars.
Photo #3 - a perfectly aligned succession of 356 windshield styles - Left to right: split window, bent window, curved windshield.
Photo #4 - one of the rarest 911 models, one of 20 '67 911Rs produced, Serial No,-0017
Photo #10 - the lady artist who spent one thousand hours perpetrating this on her innocent & unsuspecting 911 calls the car POR-SHE.
