The Next "Third Coast 356 Oktoberfest"

#1 Post by Tom Kayser »

The West Michigan "Gang of Five" would like to see another Great Lakes area group host a "Third Coast 356 Oktoberfest." We'd hope that this could eventually become an annual event in our region. In support of that, we are offering $200 as "seed money" to the first group meeting this criteria:

1. Event location in any state or province bordering one or more of the Great Lakes: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Ontario.

2. The event is structured along the lines of the "Southern 356 Drive" and the first "Third Coast 356 Oktoberfest." That is: casual, moderate cost, no concours, no 5-star hotels, etc. Just a lot of fun for the participants and the cars.

3. Use the "Third Coast 356 Oktoberfest" name. Or, if it is not a September or October event, just include "Third Coast" s part of the event name. Although not required, our event logo artwork is available thanks to Justin Escher.

4. Officially announce the event date and location via the Registry forum.

In the final accounting of our event expenses and revenues (a summary of which was provided to the trustees) we ended up with a surplus of about $400. Of that, we have made a $200 donation to the Gilmore Garage Works (information at this link: http://www.gilmorecarmuseum.org/html/co ... &nav_id=10&. The balance will go towards the next Third Coast event.

We hope another "gang" steps up and hosts a Third Coast event this year!
