LA Lit and Toy Show March 2nd 2013

#1 Post by Tim Havermans »

As most of you know, March 2nd 2013 the LA Lit and Toy Show wil take place.

This year I'll be driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles, from Monday february 25th.
I wonder if something Porsche is going on on the way from SF to LA which might be good to visit? Any musea worth visiting, collections, ...?

Thanks for advice
Tim

The Mullin Automotive Museum will be open Saturday, 23 February 2013. It might be worth trying to come slightly earlier.

The biggest Los Angeles area museums are the Petersen Automotive Museum and the Nethercutt Collecion. Both are worth a visit.

Up nearer San Fransisco, Canepa Design is an interesting visit. The Blackhawk Collection is supposed to be nice, I've never made it there.

Visit The Space Shuttle across from USC.
Cost is.$ 2.00 per person. $ 10.00 to park.
Many people in SoCal developed parts and systems for the shuttle in the 70's using a Slide Rule.
Someone suggested putting a Shuttle on a 747 and they used slide rulers to figure it out.
Kind of like Porsche before computers.
Remember HP has no equal.

I see on the Mazda Raceway-Laguna Seca website the PCA Sacramento Valley Region has a day scheduled on Feb. 28. I don't see it listed on the SVA PCA website calendar.

Tim-
I was driving from LA to the Bay Area of couple of years ago, driving a rented truck, very tired, and I came across a strange sign. It was worth stopping for a picture and soak up the history, however sad it was.

Adam, why do your pics appear sideways lately? Or is it my browser?

Adam's the only one who knew (or at least admitted to) what a Tranny is, other than the device that changes engine speed in relation to vehicle speed. Now let's talk about the clinch or is it the clutch.

Bob-
Anyone who went to Atlanta dance clubs in the 90s knew what a tranny was, but the term is not very PC today. I was at a club one time and this dancer named Go-Go kept pulling up here skirt where she was wearing wonder woman underwear and screaming, "Wonder-Woman!" It was funny at the time.

Adam, in all of your recent photographs you look either high or sleep deprived or both. : )

TMI Adam. :D

In my lexicon, the term was booty, and not the kind you wear, or pirate's treasure... well, maybe, but that's more general in nature.

Anyway, let's see, I'm going to be in Atlanta in... :)

Anyway, back on topic... What to do in LA? :D :D

Peter-
High, no, sleep deprived, yes. If I'm not hunting Porsche's or digging them out of whatever hole they went to die in, I am doing Daddy Day Care, which trust me, wears you out harder than anything on Earth, but is worth every minute.

Great photograph of the family. I can now see why you always look sleep deprived.
