Who goes to the 38th Intl. 356 Meeting in Strasbourg?

#1 Post by Pascal Zundel »

Hi,
As a Frenchman, and an alsatian on top of that, I am very excited to welcome 356 Registry fellow members next year in Strasbourg.
Who plans to come from the US? As a pedestrian or with your car?
Let me know,
Cheers,
Pascal

From what I see on the web site, you must apply to be accepted (or invited) to attend. There is also a discussion of membership, in what, the French 356 Club? All a bit confusing.

Pascal, Tiffany and I will be there with our '59 Coupe. Daryle Higginbotham and his wife are registered also. I believe he is bringing his '63 Sunroof.

To Bob Forman: membership refers to membership of any 356 club, eg 356 registry

To Jim Liberty and Daryle Higginbotham: Looking forward to seeing you there. Let's keep in touch.

Cheers
Pascal

Good news, went from wait list to participant. Bad news, paying the tariff is not easy. Apparently one can only use paypal. Not having that much money in my paypal account (plus another reason) I attempted to use paypal's non-member credit card system. Won't go because you can't send over a $1000 per transation. This one's about $1700. I'm trying to use my British Airways Visa in order to get miles and avoid a foreign transaction fee. I can link it to my paypal account but would then be charged a 2.5% foreign transation fee by them. I've emailed the French club to see if I can pay them directly or if they can invoice me twice for half the amount each. Stay tuned.

Hi Pascal,
Mandy and I are still planning to attend. We're not looking to sell Speedy, rather just spend some time cruisin' the Alps! If I can get this insurance deal figured out...
Keep in touch.

Tiffany and I are attending with Daryle and Becky, along with Craig Richter and his wife. We are all shipping cars from the Port of LA. If anyone needs help with shipping arrangements, please contact me. I have someone in Stuttgart that handles everything from my shop to anywhere in Europe. Everything "Turn Key".

While in Stuttgart before the drive to Strasbourg, we hope to visit both the Porsche and Mercedes museums. Can we do both in one day or should we plan on a day at each site?
